About Vivi   In her own words ...

I was exposed to art, design, and handcrafts at an early age. I loved working with yarn and did a lot of knitting and embroidery where I grew up in Oslo, Norway.

One of my favorite artists was always Pablo Picasso. The connection I feel to his work has, years later, here in California, developed into a passion for recreating some of his paintings in my medium of canvas and wool yarn. My challenge is to capture the soul and essence, as well as the likeness and colors of his work, in this unique textile art form using my own technique and style.

I use a variety of stitches to enhance parts of the paintings and make them come alive. My work also includes some reproductions of Henri Matisse’s and Van Gogh's paintings. In addition, I have done some of my own designs, such as cozy cabin themes of horses, roses, and windmills.

I would like to reach collectors who will enjoy these masterpieces transformed into hand-stitched original needlepoints. The works are made of the highest quality Persian wool, stretched over wooden frames, and ready to hang on your wall.
